June 10 2010 - Oaklea Julian OSS Winner at Hiawatha

Oaklea Sydney (Scott Coulter) led through fractions of :30, 1:01.1, and 1:31.4, and then closed with a :29.3 final panel to win the third Grassroots for three-year-old trotting fillies division by four and three-quarter lengths in 2:01.2.

Oaklea Sydney is now a perfect four-for-four this year and has five career victories. The daughter of Oaklea Julian, who has banked $31,250 in 2010 and $46,570 in her time on the racetrack, is trained by Paul Reid for owner Scott Maracle. Congratulations to all her connections. Oaklea Farms has a yearling full sister named Oaklea Urban.

August 13 2009 - Oaklea Samantha Sets Track Record in Sarnia
Starting from post one, Oaklea Samantha accelerated away from the starting gate to a 28.1 opening quarter for driver Terry Kerr. The two-year-old Amigo Hall daughter responded with a sharp finishing kick that propelled her down the stretch to a one and three-quarter length victory in a track record 1:58.4. Congratulations to trainer Chris Beaver and owner Doug Millard of Woodstock.

August 12 2009 - Oaklea Rico take OSS Grass Roots in Sudbury
Oaklea Rico - Striking Sahbra got a classic pocket trip in the first $24,000 Grassroots division at Sudbury Downs on Wednesday evening to score a convincing victory for the home team. Starting from post two with Sudbury resident Wayne MacLean in the race bike, Oaklea Rico drew away from the field to a three length victory in a personal best 1:59.1 and earnings of $28,992. Congratulations to owner Jocelyne Menard and trainer/driver Wayne MacLean.
Oaklea Farm will sell Oaklea Turbo a Cantab Hall half brother to Oaklea Rico in Harrisburg this fall.

July 2 2009 - Oaklea Julian filly wins OSS Grass Roots
PAIDMEDORAYME (Oaklea Julian - Paidmyway) 3, 2:00s ($60,275) wins her second OSS event of 2009 with Paul MacKenzie driving. The 3 yo Grass Roots for trotting fillies event was contested at Hiawatha Horse Park on July 2. Congratulations to breeder/owner Fred Peterson and trainer Darryl Laver.
